Co-Founders: Shea and Gina Stephenson
They say necessity is the mother of all invention. That phrase holds true in the case of Unicorn Show Clothing. Shea and I own, show and have a passion for American Quarter Horses. When our daughters were ready to hit the show ring we thought "Great! They have been bitten by the bug!". We'll just get them a great outfit, stick them on the horse and show away! Well, easier said than done. I spent countless hours on the internet searching, at shows digging through racks and finally at the seamstress having altered what I was able to put together for the girls, which was still not what we (or they!) really wanted. At the time the options were:
Make it myself (not the best idea).
- Search the internet for new clothing - available on a limited basis, but nothing that fits.
- Search the internet for used clothing - extremely time consuming, not much available and it STILL doesn't fit.
- Pay a custom outfitter $1,200 (or more!!) - not practical for Lead Line and Walk Trot!
So, here we are! Each and every rider deserves the opportunity to have an outfit that makes them grin from ear to ear. You know how much confidence putting on "just the right outfit" can bring. Not to mention the memories that are being made while wearing it!
I have put together what I was hoping to find when I started looking for show clothing for my children. Beautiful, kid friendly, comfortable designs that look great and are affordable. Whether you are showing at a local barn, 4-H, state and county fairs or the World Show, showing horses is such an amazing activity. We continue to meet great people and truly enjoy learning about life through an activity that supports caring for animals, good sportsmanship, fitness and togetherness as a family.
I hope Unicorn is what you are looking for too! I would love to know if it is - or even if it isn't - and why. I LOVE to talk, so just call or e-mail me any time!
Thank you for taking the time to look at our website, take care of yourselves, and best of luck at the show!
Warmly,
Gina Stephenson
